The following terms and conditions apply to all work undertaken by Fix It Futcher Handyman.
All work carried out by Fix It Futcher Handyman is guaranteed against faulty workmanship under normal usage for a period of three months from the date on the receipt given after completion of the job when payment is made. If any fault develops within this time period please contact Simon on 07709 809900 so remedial works can be undertaken. In the unfortunate event that a fault develops under normal usage repairs will be carried out free of charge. If a fault has occurred due to misuse of the repaired item then a fee may be chargeable to remedy the work. The provision of figures (verbally or in writing) from time to time for the likely cost for a job is an estimate only and does not constitute a contract to carry out the work at that cost. Fix It Futcher Handyman reserves the right to adjust such an estimate if upon arrival at the site, the level of work required is reasonably assessed to be greater than that previously put across by the customer.
Fix It Futcher Handyman will use reasonable endeavours to arrive on site at the pre-arranged time and to meet any performance dates agreed but any such times shall be estimates only and time shall not be of the essence for performance of the services. In the unlikely event of an emergency or a previous job over running Fix It Futcher Handyman will endeavour to advise the customer as soon as possible.
Parts/materials required to undertake your job will be added to your bill at cost. While Fix It Futcher Handyman does carry a large array of parts if additional parts are required to be collected from the builders merchant etc then travel time will be included in the final bill. If parts or materials are supplied by the customer and Fix It Futcher Handyman deems those parts are not suitable, Fix It Futcher Handyman reserves the right not to install or use the incorrect materials or parts.
Same day or out of hours service
Fix It Futcher Handyman understands that customers may require a same day service in cases of an emergency or due to security issues. As long as there is availability Fix It Futcher Handyman can act immediately and come straight out to help with your emergency situation. No extra charge will be incurred during normal working hours. My Out of Hours Service comes in to effect after 6pm and before 9am Monday to Friday, this service is charged at time and a half. Weekend service is charged at time and a half all day Saturday and double time on Sundays (unless agreed prior with Fix It Futcher Handyman).
Fix It Futcher Handyman charges for work on a time and materials basis. The charges will be calculated per day at a rate of £20 for the first 30 minutes and then £10 for each subsequent 30 minutes thereafter in the same day. Fix It Futcher Handyman will only charge for the time actually spent working or whilst collecting materials. Fix It Futcher Handyman will not charge you for break times, lunch time or whilst completing paperwork. Jobs outside a 10 miles radius of Fix It Futcher headquarters in Southend on Sea will be charged at a very reasonable rate of 15p per mile for the round trip. There will be no VAT added to your bill as Fix It Futcher Handyman is not VAT registered.
Fix It Futcher Handyman shall invoice the customer on completion of the job. The customer shall pay each invoice in cash directly to Fix It Futcher Handyman. Fix It Futcher Handyman reserves the right to request money on account when the cost of parts/materials exceeds £100 and/or the cost of labour exceeds £200 unless agreed in advance with Fix It Futcher Handyman. The customer shall pay all amounts due under the agreement in full without any deduction or withholding except as required by law and the customer shall not be entitled to assert any credit, set-off or counterclaim against Fix It Futcher Handyman in order to justify withholding payment of any such amount in whole or in part.

Fix It Futcher Handyman shall under no circumstances whatever be liable to the customer, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with the Contract; and Fix It Futcher Handyman’s total liability to the Customer in respect of all other losses arising under or in connection with the Contract, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed £10,000.
At least 24 hours notice must be given if you wish to cancel a job, if not a 30 minutes call out charge will be levied.
